Street Fighter EX2 Plus is currently available for the PlayStation in Japan. However, there are some new features like Excel Moves that allow players to create their own custom combos and a super attack that can only be performed when the character's super combo gauge is at level three or higher. For the most part, special moves are performed by the standard SF fireball or charged movements. The gameplay is nothing new, and just like the first EX game, while the game features 3D polygonal characters, it is still really a 2D fighting game. Fans of the Street Fighter games of old, will remember some of these. And the bonus mode will test player's reflexes by having them perform these goofy little tests like destroying barrels.

The training mode is like a practice mode, except that players will be required to perform specific moves. The game's practice mode is pretty standard as it simply allows players to practice their moves. The battle mode is similar to the one-on-one mode, but allows each character to select up to five combatants to fight on their team. The one-on-one versus mode is your standard two-player fighting mode, where players can select which two combatants will fight. The known modes that will appear in Fighting EX Layer are as follows Arcade, Online Vs. The arcade mode is a direct port of the arcade version of EX2 Plus.
